Will ring still record motion when my iPhone is off?

Hi! :smileyvery-happy:

I use my iPhone to access the ring doorbell app. I power my iPhone off at night, and I don’t have any motion videos stored when I power the phone back on. The setting was set to record them. Is that because ring stops recording when my iPhone is powered off, or has there just been no activity?

Thanks!

Hey @catwatch247. As long as the Doorbell is maintaining a stable connection to the internet and you have a valid Ring Protect plan subscription, it will still record any motion it detects even if your iPhone is powered off at the time. In this case, it sounds like there was no activity picked up for it to record. You can always review the Event History log after turning your phone back on to see what happened previously!
