White noise from base station

Hi, just setup the ring alarm 1 and noticed that the base station gives out a quiet hiss or white noise while running. If I reboot it goes until the door sensor sets a noise off and then it’s back. It’s constant.

Has anyone else noticed this or do I have a bad unit?

Hi @Sambates123. This is strange, as the Base Station should not be producing a “white noise” sound. Would you be able to share a short video of this noise that the Base Station produces? This way, I can share it with my team and see if we can diagnose what is happening. In addition, you can upload this video elsewhere, such as YouTube, and then share the link to the video in your reply. :slightly_smiling_face:

I am also getting this, was it resolved?

Hi @Whitehouse3489. If you can, please review my previous response to better help you address this concern.

Same here. I just set it up, and it’s whistling. Enough to be heard even with TV on, but not enough to be heard in video.
Since it’s new, I will send it back right away, unless there’s more feedback before I send it back…

I confirm that rebooting the base will fix the issue. For about 1 hour, then it will whistle again…

I have found the culprit. The noise comes from the LED. Lowering the luminosity will lower the noise. You can lower it until it can’t be heard. I set it to 15-20% and I can’t hear it anymore. It will still emit noise even with 0%, so it’s better installed somewhere outside the living room.
You’re welcome.
