White Light on doorbell

My doorbell is working just fine but I noticed the white light is off. It was on.

I have been reading that camera is in idle mode - if so how do I remove that. My camera also is not recording.


Hi @user3620. When you say the Doorbell is working, do you mean that it is or isn’t recording motion and ding events when they occur? Are you able to access the Live View or does it not load? Additionally, which model of Ring Doorbell do you have? You should be able to find this information on the original packaging, on the back of the Doorbell itself, or on the Device Health page in the Ring App.

I don’t have it recording. I’m just using it as a doorbell. It used to be an intercom system on my house. Live view does work. Just looking to have the white circular light shine at night.

No Video Subscription
Connected to a 2nd generation Chime
Alerts only when someone ring bell, no motion alerts. Motion detection is set to “on”. Motion alerts and motion warning “off”
Health Check is excellent, firmware up to date.

Everything works well. However, the white solid light on the doorbell sometimes is on and sometimes is off. It’s useful when it’s dark so people know what to press.

I’ve been told that the doorbell is in Idle state. Don’t know if that is true. Any suggestions on how to get that white circle stay on all the time?
