When will Ring allow basic security with a VPN?

Maybe some rhetorical questions on this will help Ring resolve this issue.

  1. Why do you block a SECURITY feature on a SECURITY CAMERA? And don’t spout that nonsense you have in your knowledge base about not being able to track IP addresses. THAT’S THE POINT.

  2. Why do you not print in large bold letters on your packaging “Will not work with VPNs”? It would save a lot of time and frustration for your customers.

  3. Why do you not have a “VPN FRUSTRATION” tag I can choose when posting this? It would allow a significant portion of the world to more easily connect!

  4. How do I return this camera without incurring shipping charges?

Hi @user26279. We have addressed Ring’s compatibility with VPNs in this thread here. As of December 2019, the Ring app and Neighbors apps are no longer compatible with VPNs.
