Hi @PapaJim. Is the [Video Doorbell Wired](https://ring.com/products/video-doorbell-wired) the model to which you are referring? If so, the Jumper Cable needs to be installed into your pre-existing chime in order for the Doorbell Wired to work correctly. This Help Center [page](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360054984332-Installing-your-Ring-Video-Doorbell-Wired) will show you how to install the Jumper Cable. Also, this model Doorbell cannot ring any pre-existing chimes.
