Video length

Why is my Doorbell making clips as short as 7 seconds ? I have it set to 120 seconds. Surely it should record for 120 seconds from the start of motion detection ?

Hi @Motorhomes4sale. Try toggling the recording length to a different option, and then back to 120 seconds. Once you’ve done that, trigger a test event by walking in front of the Doorbell and allowing it to record the motion that was detected. If it is still a short recording, would you mind sharing a video example of this along with a screenshot of the video recording length that you have set in the Ring App?

When attaching the video example, you will need to compress the MP4 file into a ZIP file, as ZIP files can be attached to your reply and not MP4s. In addition, you can upload this video elsewhere, such as YouTube, and then share the link to the video in your reply. Alternatively, if the video is saved in the Event History in your Ring App, you can choose to share it via email and copy the link that is generated. I’d be happy to take a look and see what suggestions I can offer!

@Caitlyn_Ring I have the same issue.

Here is the video, and I have mine set for 60 seconds, but yet get 10 seconds max! It’s very frustrating, as I have toggled it back and forth to get it to “reset” in a way, but nothing…

Hi @amandamessick. I would suggest doing a reset of your Doorbell, then reconnect it to wifi. You can perform a reset by pressing and holding the setup button for 20 seconds, then releasing. After about a minute, you can reconnect your Doorbell to your wifi. The Doorbell will then perform a short update and you can test function after it is done. If you are still getting short videos, reach out to our support team for the next best steps. I hope this helps!
