Video Doorbell motion detection and time schedule

Hi,

is there any possibility or workaround for disabling the motion detection (not only notifications) on Video Doorbell by time schedule? I would be very thankful for any hints.

Tobias

Hi @tobi86. You can control how your Ring Cameras and Doorbells behave with the Modes feature. This will allow you to disable motion detection and recording based on which Mode you set your devices in. It won’t be automatic on a time schedule, but you can manually change the Modes when you want to change how your devices are behaving. I hope you find this information helpful.

Hi and thanks for your response!

The mode feature seems to be an option to switch on/off motion detection fast. Could these modes also be switched by Amazon Echo so maybe an Alexa routine would be possible for this case?

Could be also a note for for future implementations.

@tobi86 At this time, the Alexa and Ring integration doesn’t support changing modes for Doorbells and Cameras. If you have a Ring Alarm system integrated with your Alexa, you’re able to arm and disarm it, as outlined here, but this isn’t the case for swapping modes on Cameras or Doorbells yet. Feel free to browse the Feature Request board and see if other neighbors have made a similar suggestion, and if not, you can add this idea there. This board helps us to organize and share your requests with our teams here, as well as allow other neighbors to comment and add interest, all in one place.
