Video doorbell installation, 230V existing doorbell?

troubleshooting

Hello Guys.I am living in Europe, just got a Video doorbell V1. I would like to use it with my existing doorbell, which works with 230V. My problem is: the original ring button next to the door has only one wire from the existing digital chime, that wire will be shorted, when I push the ring button. How could I install the new video doorbell to work with the existing chime?Thank you for your advices!Zoltan

![IMG_2411|666x500](upload://dOgwHzBzqPub5AWZ04R0yZiBCnd.jpeg)Sorry for the quality, maybe it is better to see, how the original is connected. This digital chime is set onto the rail, where the circuit breakers are set.

Hi @Zoli1983. You can find the instructions for installing your Video Doorbell with an existing doorbell in our Help Center article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/115001912086-How-to-physically-install-your-Ring-Video-Doorbell-1st-Generation-with-an-existing-doorbell). The chime kit you have may not be [compatible](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/210644123-Ring-Video-Doorbell-1st-Generation-Chime-Kit-Compatibility-List) with the Video Doorbell, as there does need to be a compatible transformer in the doorbell circuit. The Video Doorbell is compatible with AC-powered door chimes operating between 8-24 volts. It is not compatible with wireless door chimes or any chime/intercom system using a DC transformer.
