I am planning to purchase the Ring Video Doorbell 3 and have it hardwired to my existing doorbell wiring. I would like to have the Doorbell 3 cause my already installed doorbell chime to sound when the doorbell button is pressed, rather than add a wireless Ring Chime device. Can you confirm that the Ring Video Doorbell 3 device, when hardwired to existing doorbell wiring in the home, will ring the existing doorbell sound device in my home without me having to purchase a Ring Chime device?
Hey @BobbyC-8. You should be able to achieve this! Please reference our Help Center Article here for more information on how to get this set up. Once successfully set up, it should ring your internal chime kit when the Doorbell button is pressed.
That only puts the Ring 3 device in series with all the existing wiring, transformer and existing doorbell. That cannot power anything. Seems you need their transformer kit, etc.
