Upgrade from Ring Alarm V1 to V2

Hi. I wonder what will be the easiest way to upgrade from Ring Alarm V1 to V2.

Is the base still the same, so I just add the new keypad etc, or got the alarm base unit as well an upgrade? Is this the unit with the 3G included or is it the keypad?

Hi @Bosi. The Ring Alarm Base Station is essentially the same for both Gen 1 and Gen 2. The main difference is a matte finish vs. a glossy finish. The Sensors are compatible with both systems.

@Bosi - are you wondering about Ring Alarm Pro?

AFAIK, Gen 1 and Gen 2 were identical feature wise, other than the contact sensors having a different shape.

Alarm Pro includes a built-in Eero router,. backup internet and more (with Ring Protect Pro).
