Under eave /90 degree wall mount

I’m very confused, are the optional ceiling mount or wall mount really needed. I’m looking at either the stick up wired or the spotlight wired. I don’t want it mount to front wall. So it will be mount on side wall looking towards the front. Like 90 degree turn or hanging from eave looking forwards. I’m not really sure what’s included in the box. Is it straight wall mount? I know there is optional ceiling wall mounts but are they needed? Thank.
