Temporarily disabling floodlight?

I have two of the Ring Floodlight Cam Plus units and am VERY happy with them! I do have one problem however.

I often get up before sunrise and sit on my back deck. When I do, the floodlight senses motion and turns on. I don’t want it to come on at that time, so I’ve been switching the power to the floodlight camera. I turn it back on after sunrise. When I do this, the camera doesn’t detect motion again until after sundown.

If there a way to temporarily turn off only the floodlight’s motion detection without disabling the camera’s motion detection?

Hi @user24398. You can set up a Light Schedule for your Floodlight Cam and make it so that the lights do not turn on during a set time and day. You can also manually disable the motion-activated lights in your Lights Settings and turn them back on when you want. To disable the motion activated lights follow these steps:

  • Open your Ring app
  • Tap the three lines on the top right.
  • Tap Devices.
  • Tap Device Settings.
  • Tap Light Settings.
  • Toggle off Motion Activated Lights

Both these options do not affect the motion detection on your Camera. I hope this helps.
