Spotlight cam plus, 2 batteries no issues batteries last over a month. Decided to get solar panel. Panel gets light half a day. Batteries now die overnight. They charge back to 50-70% during the day but dead in the morning. I have turned everything off in the camera settings and they still die. Any help or suggestions? Maybe the panel is defective? Setting need a better reset, I’m lost.
Hi @Jwwagner. I’d suggest first performing a reboot on your Spotlight Cam using the reboot option on the Device Health page. Then review your settings and the amount of activity your Spotlight Cam is recording to ensure nothing has changed. If the batteries continue to drain very quickly, you can fully reset your Spotlight Cam by holding down the setup button for 20 seconds. Once that’s done, walk through a new setup in the Ring app using the steps under Set Up a Device. This will allow you to go over all of the settings from scratch.
These troubleshooting steps should resolve any issues affecting the battery drain. It’s also important to ensure that your Spotlight Cam is not recording an excessive amount of activity each day, as that would contribute to the battery draining more quickly than expected.
