Spotlight Camera Brand new battery door open

I just purchased a brand new spotlight camera. It has 2 back-up batteries. It keeps telling me the battery door is open. I have checked it several times. Opened & closed it, yet it keeps giving me that warning. Is it defective?

When I open ring app it says battery door is open on my spotlight security

Outdoor camera alerting me about battery door open. I have confirmed multiple times that the battery door is properly closed.
Any tips?

Hey neighbors! If your Spotlight Camera will not report the battery hatch as closed, please attempt the following:

  • Ensure there is no debris in the battery hatch and that the hatch is closed fully. It will make a clicking sound once lock and closed fully.
  • Press and hold the setup button on the Camera for 20 seconds to reset the device, then reconnect your Ring device.
