Spotlight Cam Plus Audio

I recently purchased the spotlight cam plus and noticed on my recordings that the audio and voices the microphone picks up is very low and hard to even make out. I replaced an old regular spotlight cam and that one picked up voices and audio just fine. Does anyone else have the same experiece with the spotlight cam plus? I checked in settings and the only audio setting I could find is device settings, general settings, volume settings and turning that up all the way, but audio on recordings is still really low almost indistinguishable.
