Solar panel says not connected

I installed my solar panel today right out of the box and it said connected for a while now says not connected. I unplugged it and plugged it back in same thing. Anyway to make it detect again?

Hi @tostegall. You can try a full reset and new setup of your Camera to make sure everything is working properly. To reset the Camera, you’ll just need to hold down the setup button for at least 20 seconds. Once that’s done. walk through a new setup in the Ring App with the steps under Set Up a Device. Make sure the Solar Panel is firmly connected to your Ring Camera, and that it is receiving at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day.

Should it still state that it is not connected, and it does not appear to be charging your Ring Camera, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here. They can look into this more closely to diagnose what the problem may be and offer a solution for you. They are sending a new solar panel. I hope that is the issue. I mean it will say connected if I select spot light cam solar when setting up. However it never seemed to charge. Then it will go to not connected and then required a reset to get it to say connected again.
