Just bought a Ring wireless spotlight cam. Cant seem to get the socket to click onto the cam body. Worried about putting too much pressure on it. Doesnt seem to be any adjustment. Can anyone help?

Hey neighbors! If you're unable to get your Spotlight Cam installed, try the troubleshooting steps below:- If you received an orange screwdriver with your Ring Spotlight Cam, this screwdriver has two ends. You can pull the Phillips bit out of the orange handle and swap it around to get the star key on the other side. - Make sure to completely loosen the screw in the collar.- You can use a bit of pressure when inserting the ball on the back of the Spotlight Cam into the socket. You should see it pop into place. - For reference, you can find the Spotlight Cam Battery installation instructions [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003340986-Ring-Spotlight-Cam-Battery-Installation). For further assistance with the installation of your Spotlight Cam, you can give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). I know this is an old topic, but I just got my ring spotlight camera battery and I’m installing it today. I am having the same issue with the ball on the back of the camera mounted into the socket. Yes, I have a loose end of the screw on the collar all the way and it still won’t snap in. Did anybody ever figure this out?I read through the responses in the thread and didn’t see anything that would help me.

I’m having the same problem. The screws that were provided are just too short.

I too, encountered this issue at first, and discovered that I needed to completely remove the screw from the collar clamp that was around the ball socket. After I removed this screw, the ball end on camera case was then able to set inside the ball socket with just a small bit of force. I then re-applied the screw on the collar clamp. Works like a charm.

As of June 2023, I am having the same problem and none of the solutions in this thread are working because I don't have any tools that came with this. In fact the instructions say to use a Phillips head screwdriver (not included). So I am trying to use every single Phillips head screwdriver we own and none will loosen it. I have multiple sizes and some small ones for internal computer parts, still none of them will turn this screw. This is beyond frustrating since I can see this has been a problem for a few years now.

Same problem here. My spotlight cam arrived today. Absolutely no way that screw in the collar is coming out! Worried I've now damaged the head of the screw 😕 No tool supplied with the camera and none of my (many) screwdrivers are making the slightest difference. It's definitely a Phillips screw and not the same as the one in the casing of the Ring doorbell. Really frustrating as not sure what else I can do.
