troubleshooting

Hello, I'm assuming there's no option to bring the cable through the back of the siren so it's not visable from outside? Can you have mains power without D batteries, do the batteries still draw charge once mains power is connected or are they only utilised in the event of mains power failure. Maybe have mains and rechargeable battery pack for a fit and forget install? Thanks

Hi @Jaysadie. We have this Help Center [page](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050832752-Outdoor-Siren-hardwiring-instructions) on how to hardwire the Outdoor Siren. You do not need the D batteries in it while it is hardwired. If you do leave the D batteries in while it is hardwired, the batteries will not be used unless power is lost from the hardwiring. This and other information can be found in this Help Center [article](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360054374931-Ring-Alarm-Outdoor-Siren-) for the Outdoor Siren.
