Silence exit delay and armed announcement on demand
alarm
app-request

When I leave for work early and the Mrs is still asleep, it would be great if I could arm the alarm without waking her. I've been thinking how I wish there were a way to silence the exit delay and arming announcment from the keypad but only on demand basis. Typically during the day we want to hear these announcements, but in the above example it would be perfect for a silent arming. Please let us know if this can be implimented soon!

Good question @TechGuy42 ! This is something that is currently obtainable through the audio settings of the Base station and Keypad in the Ring App. Turning the volume down completely on both will ensure for a silent changing of Alarm modes. Check out the last two questions on [this FAQ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026671732-Ring-Alarm-FAQs) for a walkthrough on silencing the Alarm components during mode changes.

I think you misunderstood the specific part which I clearly stated I only wish to silence this on demand because I still want to hear the announcements during the day when we're awake... Your suggestion would permanently silence announcements or merely lower the volume.

As of right now there is no silent/ snooze feature for the audible indicators for arming, delays, or state changes. The best solution would be to manually decrease the volume completely on both the Base Station and Keypad through the application. This can be reversed just as easily during the times when audio is desired.

Thanks for pulling all of those links together @Boone. You see even with the request facility, enough people still don't vote. Even if the idea is the most awesome idea, if people don't know about it to vote, it goes nowhere. Wonder if there is an effective way to poll people without being borthersome.... Ought to be a better way to measure sentiment.

As a new Ring customer this is the biggest issue I'm having with the system. As everyone else has already mentioned, I've had a few other alarm systems in the past and they all had a way to silence the exit delay sounds. Not sure what good it'll do, but I've gone and thumbs upped all of the feature request posts and commented to each of them in hopes of improving visibility to the Ring product development team. I really hope they make this a priority in the next release because it's driving my crazy not being able to silence quickly and on demand.

I agree. My IRIS system had a feature to arm immediately in addition to the usual delayed arming while exiting the house. I am usually the last person to go to bed in my family, so when I arm the system, it goes through the countdown. Going into the app to silence the volume, then set the alarm, and then bring the volume back up is a workaround but not a good one.

I would love a silent delay arming option.
