I have several Ring locations. On only one the shortcuts on the dashboard will not load. I keep getting “This is taking longer than expected” and yet they never load. I have un and reinstalled the Ring app as instructed several times. Always the shortcuts load immediately after the restart but never subsequently they do not load. Is there a fix for this?
Hi @Ffkad1. Uninstalling and reinstalling the Ring App was a good troubleshooting step to take. Something else I’d recommend checking is ensuring that both your Ring App and your phone’s OS are fully updated and that if you have a VPN, it is disabled when using the Ring App. If this concern continues to persist, our support team can take a closer look and help diagnose what’s causing it. I’m having the same issue as of today. I’m new to Ring, but everything was working fine until yesterday. The shortcuts always loaded a little slowly, but as of today they are not loading at all. Everything else still works as far as I can tell. The only thing is I also have a myQ garage door opener and I have a Key by Amazon delivery scheduled for tomorrow and the Key Delivery is one of my shortcuts. I have a hunch that the shortcuts are failing to retrieve the Key Delivery status, because that’s the only thing that’s different as of today. I’ll see if it starts working again after the delivery. I can’t edit the shortcuts either. Tapping on Shortcuts in the settings does nothing at all.
I signed out of the app and then back in, and the shortcuts showed up the first time, but then I had to login to myQ as the Ring app was reporting that my garage is signed out. After that the shortcuts were failing to load again when open the app fresh. Clearly something is broken with this feature. I was chatting with support, but they kinda rudely ended the chat saying they can’t troubleshoot over chat and that I need to call. I’m sorry, but I have better things to do than spend time on the phone with support. Please figure this out Ring!
Hi there @superswiss. We had neighbors report a similar concern regarding their Dashboard not loading properly when there is a Key delivery scheduled. I actually addressed it in this thread here, so feel free to keep an eye on that, as we’ll share more information there once we have information to share.
Thank you @Caitlyn_Ring. Yes, the scheduled Key delivery seems to be the issue. My shortcuts are loading again now that the delivery took place.
