Hello, first time posting on here. I recently upgrades my 1st generation to a 2nd generation Ring video door bell. My Ring Basic protection plan renewed a few months ago and I’ve since upgraded to a 2nd generation Ring door bell. How can I transfer my Basic service plan to the new device and remove it from the 1st generation one that I have? Thanks in advance!

Hello @RJR1 ,
Your RIng Protect Plan “Basic” is tied to your Ring Video Doorbell 1st Gen. Since you said you renewed your subscription plan a few months ago, it sounds like you are paying annually, not monthly. The easiest method is to cancel your subscription on the 1st Gen, and then start a new subscription for your 2nd Gen doorbell. Ring will then ‘pro-rate’ the amount of unused 1st Gen subscription back to your credit card, while charging for a full complete year subscription for your 2nd Gen.
Here’s how to manage/cancel your Ring Protect Plan:
I hope you find this information useful.
