We’ve lived in our new home for a year now and haven’t had any issues with our Ring Video Doorbell until now. Yesterday, it went offline and we’re not sure why. We called support and was on with them for 2 hours and they couldn’t figure it out and didn’t offer further assistance.
We have a Ring Video Doorbell Elite that’s hardwired. One of the strange things about it is that it repeats that it’s in setup mode every 5 minutes, but the white spinning only happens for about 15 seconds before going all white. We’ve had to disconnect it because it’s so loud it’s bothering the neighbors. Also, when she says it’s in setup mode it never broadcasts the “Ring Setup b7” network.
They had us try all the normal troubleshooting techniques.
Factory Reset/Hard Reset
Reinstalled App
Reset Network
Powered Everything down (even at the breaker)
Turned off Bluetooth / Cellular Data
We have very fast speeds and great WIFI coverage
Reset Router / Cycled Power
Anyone have any suggestions? It’s just so strange that she repeats it’s in setup mode every 5 minutes even though it’s only spinning white for about 15 seconds before going solid. Also, it never broadcasts the “Ring Setup…” network. It should just be spinning white like when it was first installed.
Thanks in advance. You’re my last hope because Ring Technical Support pretty much couldn’t figure it out and washed their hands of us.
