Ring triggers alarm at entry

I have set the entry delay at 60 seconds. Unfortunately, when I walk in the alarm is triggered directly - alarm sound - and is not waiting for this 60 seconds to end.

As far I can see, this delay is alarm-wide setting, so ALL the sensors triggering an alarm (contact / movement / and probably even the glass-break) should delay before the alarm sounds.

I double check, but for every where I can enable the delay timer, it is set to 60 seconds

Hi @Remco74. Wherever you are entering your home, if you have a Contact Sensor on that door, verify you have its Placement setting set to Main Door. If it’s set to Secondary, then it will ignore the Entry Delay and automatically trigger the Ring Alarm. To do so, follow these steps:

  • Open the Ring app
  • Choose the menu button (three lines in the upper left corner).
  • Select your Alarm Base Station
  • Select your Contact Sensor
  • Tap Device Settings
  • Tap Placement
  • Select Main Door and hit Save on the top right

Let me know if this helps. :slightly_smiling_face:
