Ring solar panel keeps saying not connected


I’ve got a spotlight cam battery, and a solar panel however every couple of days the wire pops out!

It’s not actually managed to charge since I put it up as I spend every other day going back up the ladder.

It’s just the push in pin power lead rather than the one which screws in.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Update: been back up the ladder, in the dark, and pushed the cable back in- it’s now still saying not connected

Hi there, @AndrewB87! As long as you are using the compatible Ring Solar Panel linked here, for your Spotlight Camera, this should remain connected dependably. Please ensure there is some slack to the wire and the wire is not secured or stretched too tightly from the Solar Panel to the Camera. This adapter should remain connected, and once connected securely and free of debris or obstructions, the Ring app should reflect a proper status within a reasonable amount of time thereafter. It can sometimes require an event to be triggered before the solar status changes. I hope this helps! :slight_smile:

You guys at customer support are programmed to give the same answers. This is an issue with a lot of us who use the solar panels. I have called supper and keep getting the same BS answers. Tell someone to fix the firmware.
