Ring Protect Pro $100 to $200 a Year!

I am seeking customer service help, I purchased a video doorbell last year was delayed on install until this past summer purchased $30 annual for one camera with expectation that I would expand system to a ring alarm kit that warrants professional monitoring for $10 a month or $100 annually,
That to me was the major factor for the expansion, subsequently yesterday I purchased ring alarm kit only to discover that now there was a price increase to $20 a month & “some” prior customers are grandfathered in until 2025 at $10 a month
I am trying to get ring to include me in that as a prior customer but do think it’s silly to have required professional monitoring for ONLY my video doorbell to qualify, when unless your property is secure as can be with sensors is to me it was of little use. In any event I hope someone from ring will see this and reach out and accommodate otherwise I am just going to return it & go another route
Terrible rollout in my opinion, I am not aware of any disclosure this was happening and at least then given the opportunity to expand system prior.

As for those neighbors who were grandfathered into the Ring Protect Plus (1st Gen), you can read more information about that here. The eligibility for Ring Protect Plus (1st Gen) is as follows:

  • If you were an active Protect Plus subscriber on September 28, 2021, you are eligible for Protect Plus (1st Gen).
  • If you set up a Ring Alarm before September 28, 2021, you are eligible to subscribe to Protect Plus (1st Gen) until December 31, 2021.
  • If you are a Lennar homeowner, you are eligible for Protect Plus (1st Gen). Learn more.

If you don’t fit these criteria, you wouldn’t be eligible for the grandfathered plan and you would need the Ring Protect Pro plan to have Professional Monitoring for your Ring Alarm system. Please note that if you don’t have a Ring Alarm system, you wouldn’t need the Pro plan as you don’t have anything that can be Professionally Monitored.
