Ring protect plus

We purchased a system prior to 9/28 that has not been set up yet and just found out Ring is now doubling the cost of the service. This was bought on knowledge of the previous costs. We would like to know if this will be honored or if we should return the system and move to another brand.

The price increase for existing customers won’t go up until 2025. At that time your base station will no longer receive software security updates.
If you haven’t setup the system you purchased, you might look around at your options first before returning. When I looked about a year ago Ring was about the cheapest and even with the price increase still pretty low. As I’m already setup with Ring I’m going to wait it out and in 3-4 years I’ll look around as likely by then companies will come and go and devices will be even better. Of course the prices will be higher as they always go up and never go down.

Sorry that this happened to you! It was a poorly structured rollout. They should have given some notification and time for people to sign up before the cut off date. Are you already on the Ring Protect for $100 a year for all your devices? That might qualify you…

I would call Ring as soon as possible to see if you can get grandfathered in.

So what happens in 2025. Will we have no choice but to subscribe to Protect Pro? And what about the existing Alarm system (1st Gen). Will they no longer work either?

Two different issues here.
