Ring protect plan gen 1 device now no protect as applied to old broken device that now no plan?

Doorbell protect plan deactivated when 1 device plan now what?
Bought a years protect for 1 device. I deregistered the broken one but think its linked to this without letting me choose after i added the gen 2 wireless video doorbell. Why has ring protect now gone? Is this a yr protect on old gen1 that wasnt wver used as didnt have any unplugged in barttety isdie so deactivated gen 1 then registered gen2.
What happens when this happens as clearly wanted ti choose my device i wanted covering and quit l recent as although needed i didn’t want it for the gen 1 and needed it for the gen2 recordings so what happens now? i paid yearly for a unregistered ir plan linkd to a broken device? why and what is the reason and why does this then unregisters my plan please advise ic you can help? I didbt agree to this unless unclear terms ghat are clearly not explicit or apparent in the signup.
