Ring Pro freezing when doorbell pressed

I have a Ring doorbell Pro (Gen1).
I have found that when the doorbell button is pressed, the doorbell crashes and requires rebooting via the setup button.
Thisnis a problem when i am away from home making it imposible to see the doorbell on the app as it needs to be physically rebooted.
I am using a mechanical chime and it has worked for nearly 4yrs but started happening in last 1month or 2.
I read others stopped getting the issue after disablig the mechanical chime.
I rely on the mechanical chime. Has there been a firmware update to the device causing this issue?
