I only have 1 Echo Dot. There is a setting in the Amazon Alexa app: Alexa, Devices, All Devices, Front Door, Motion Detect, OFF. You can also do Enabled, OFF.If there were multiple Echo devices in my household, I might still want to be notified even if somebody else wanted theirs turned off. But I can see how there may need to be an option to turn it all off.

I have the same issue to my Android phone, even not with Alexa. Why do I have to do the extra thing other than "Motion Alerts" to OFF to actual off for motion detection notification?

Agreed... They made it clunky. Turning off notifications in the main Ring App should turn off "ALL" notifications.

Also, "Motion Alerts" OFF means the doorbell detection still runs but just doesn't notify? I'm using the battery so I don't want to make it run if not needed. So I'm wondering if that function means actual detection disabling or still detecting but not sending notification.

i agree. Its frustrating. I cant turn off the Alexa notifications unless I remove the app. I like the notifications but want the option to disable or turn off or to put on a schedule or mute. I turned off the notifications and it doesnt stop them on the Echo.

Setting "Do Not Disturb" is totally inadequate as it disables ALL notifications.RING is the slowest company I have ever encountered at evolving their software and listening to customer suggestions.

And if you have newer android phones, many of us still have to use rapid ring to get live view. The main android app still does not work. Stopped working after an update months ago.... BJBBJB

I have both apps on multiple Android phones. Pixels and others all running Android 10. I have no issues with either app. So it's not all androids. Maybe it with the brand you're using...

That is great for your pixels. It specifically does not work on Note10 plus Android 10 2.1 or note 9 OS. Just a side comment and off topic for this thread. Not starting the usual Galaxy vs. Pixel debate, it just should work on all, especially newer devices. It is clearly a known issue as I was dir

I was going nuts with the same issue when I leave for the gym in the morning...the result was Alexa announces through all three dots that "someone is at the door." Not good for those sleeping at 4 am. I have one camera (ring doorbell) and have figured out I can just go into the Alexa app (iPhone) and turn off the camera notifications while I leave and when I come home. 1) Open Alexa App2) Choose "Devices" on bottom of app3) Choose "Camera" on top of app4) Select the Named Camera (Ring Doorbell)5) Toggle "off" Motion AnnouncementsHope this helps!

Hi. that works for the Alexas (x3), however it still sounds out on the 2 x iPhones and 2 x iPads.

I have multiple echo devices around the house, and I finally solved this problem!1) open the Alexa app on your phone2) go to devices > all devices3) select "front door" or whatever you named your Ring doorbell4) choose "delete" and delete the device forever5) (optional) uninstall the Ring doorbell and take back to store6) (optional) purchase literally any other brand of smart doorbell because Ring is the absolute worst
