The camera works fine during the day; however, beginning at dusk it seems to have a mind of its own. The light continuously goes on and off with each and every bit of motion (all night long until sunrise). If the breeze blows the ceiling fan…light goes on. If a moth flies by…light goes on. And, if we go out the door…light goes on. As a result, our entire back patio has become unusable to us after dusk, as we don’t care to sit out there under a bright spotlight.
We have tried various settings in the Ring App. We have turned off the “Motion Detection”. We have gone into the “Device Settings-Light Settings” and completely turned off the “Motion-Activated Lights”. We also went into the “Advanced Settings” and set up a Light Schedule, as well as adjusted the Light Brightness. We also adjusted the motion sensitivity as low as it can go. Nothing seems to work. And, because this light is linked to the Ring Cam on the Putting Green, that light is triggered each time the Back Patio light goes on. However, we were easily able to solve this problem (and keep peace with our neighbor) by just going into the Putting Green device on the Ring App and turning off the “Motion-Activated Lights” feature. However, that means the light will never come on out at the Putting Green until we resolve the Back Patio issue.
Any ideas? Is there a physical light switch on the device itself? Or, perhaps the light function on the Ring Cam is defective?
