Ring doorbell won’t connect to WiFi
Today while at work I noticed my front doorbell said it was disconnected from my network. When I got home I tried to reconnect, but the troubleshooting provided through the app only assumes I’ve typed in the wrong WiFi password or the network has changed. There had been no change to the network, and the password is 100% right. Every other workaround I’ve tried hasn’t worked either. I disconnected the device from my account, deleted the app and redownloaded it, still nothing. Any way I can make this connect to my Wifi and be available through the app again?

@ecameron Has anything changed in your setup like a firmware update to your router etc? Also how old is your Ring Doorbell?

I have seen a number of posts form owners of the Ring Video Door Bell, and as mentioned by @ecameron I have tried for weeks to get the doorbell reconnected. I have spent in excess of 6 hours on this issue including a 90 min customer call, turning off power, wifi routers, and using 2 phones, wifi extenders to try and re-connect the door bell. The base issue is that the Ring virtual next work just wont show up, and then the door bell cant connect. I am at a loss for what to do next, this is £149 piece of kit that is right now useless ?

Has anything changed yet with your ring? Is it working? I had identical issue since yesterday all recordings are black. And live view has a error message. I been on the phone with 6 reps yesterday and all the steps were preformed, just to tell me after I must order the chime pro which I’m expecting this Saturday

It seems that I’m having the same problem, My ring 2 doorbell stoped connecting on March 16th 2021, I’ve tried everything, charge battery, reset and there appears to be some kind of update being installed that is causing the problem, as soon as I get it up on said that an update is being installed and the it drops off the network. If anyone has and idea what to do please let me know?

Hey neighbors. I’m happy to share some tips and trick for getting your Doorbell to connect to wifi. First and foremost, charge your battery if you have a Battery Powered Doorbell. Next, you’ll want to make sure that your Ring app is up to date as well as your phones OS. There is also a few settings that you’ll want to adjust: Turn Location Services ON and make sure Permissions are allowed. Turn OFF Bluetooth and and active VPN Turn OFF your Smart Network Switch (Android) or Wifi Assist (iPhone) Once you have verified these settings, bring the Doorbell as close as you can to your internet router. Then perform a reset on your Doorbell and on your internet router. You can reset your Doorbell by pressing and holding the Setup Button for 20 seconds. You can reset your router by unplugging it for 3 minutes. It can take up to 10 minutes for your wifi to restore. Keep in mind, you may need to change the ports and protocols for your router. Next, put your Doorbell in Setup Mode by pressing the Setup Button and follow the steps listed in the Ring app. If you are prompted to use a network from a previous setup, tap No and enter your network information in manually. This should allow you to connect. After your Doorbell has updated and you’ve tested the Live View, feel free to mount it.
