I just installed our ring wired doorbell 2021 and it seems to be functioning fine with one exception… it seems warm. It’s not in the sun, air temp is around 80 degrees, and I used my thermal temp gun to check the door frame, it’s 81.7 degrees 1/2” away from the doorbell. At the top of the silver cover it showed 103.4 degrees and that was at about 7:50pm sun was down. At the bottom of the silver cover it shows almost 10 degrees less, with 93 degrees. Is this normal?
Hi @MikeInMass. It is normal for your Doorbell Wired to feel warm to the touch during operation. You can compare it to a mobile phone or even a personal computer being very warm when it’s in use. The temperature of your electronic devices will also be affected by the ambient temperature outside, especially during the warmer summer months.
