Ring Doorbell - Rubbish
battery-video-doorbell
I bought a Ring video doorbell not even a week ago for our brand new house. WiFi router is in the next room and I have a strong connection. The quality of the video on this doorbell when attempting to answer a ring or speak to someone is absolutely appalling. You can’t maintain a conversation as it stutters and jumps around the place. I want to return it for a refund but now I’ll have four drill holes in my brand new front door as this product is nothing as advertised. Horrible.

Sorry to hear about this experience, @BrodieHarrison. The proximity of your router to your Doorbell certainly sounds sufficient for intended video quality. Depending on the Doorbell model you have, there may have been the option to connect to your 2.4 Ghz or 5 Ghz network. I recommend choosing the 2.4 Ghz network for best results through exterior walls. You can also double check your wifi signal via the Device Health section in your Ring app. Here is our [Community Post about RSSi](https://community.ring.com/t/how-it-works-your-ring-device-rssi-good-vs-poor/229) for more information. If you have a battery powered Doorbell, a great way to rule out most wifi related variables is to test video while the Doorbell is in the same room as the router. Removing and reinstalling the Ring app on your mobile device, as well as ensuring no vpn is enabled, can also help. Feel free to let us know how this goes! :)
