ring doorbell pro voltage drop at night

I am hoping someone can help me with a problem I am having with my ring doorbell pro. Recently installed by an electrican was setup and working fine around 9 at night door bell dies. Next morning I check and no power to the doorbell. Called electrican and he comes out unscrews the doorbell and it starts working. Continues to work until later that night. Next morning I take the doorbell transformer cover off and look at the Pro Power Kit V2 doorbell starts working sometime during the night it stops working again. Again I take the cover off and move the Pro Power Kit V2 and it starts working before I did that I check the voltage and it was saying low. All connection look good. Do I have a problem with the Pro Power Kit V2 or the transformer. Seem like it is somehow reacting to the cold it is getting to around 45degree F at night but that does not make sense that moving the Pro Power Kit V2 the next morning will get it back working. Any idea what is gong on is much apprecciated.

Hey @ss109! Thank you for sharing your experience and steps taken in great detail. As this happens at night, the Doorbell Pro does pull more power at night for the night vision operation. This is regulated by the Pro Power Kit, as you know. Good call checking the Pro Power Kit, it’s possible this is the culprit.

The spare parts kit on our accessories page at Ring.com will provide a Pro Power Kit, among other parts. I recommend starting with this, as your transformer is likely providing sufficient power. Please also double check wiring for variables such as length of wire run, eroding/ fraying wire causing a short, or even wiring being too thin, causing resistance in voltage. I hope this helps!

So you are suggesting that I replace the Pro Power Kit?

That is correct, @ss109! After confirming your wiring configuration is proper, as it sounds like you have, replacing the Pro Power Kit is a great next step. You can do so with the Spare Parts Kits, or feel free to reach out to our support team to see if they can provide more insight, or the part.
