Ring Video Doorbell

Ring Doorbell Pro constantly going offline but actually connected to Internet
Recently (about three days ago), my hard-wired Ring Doorbell Pro constantly goes offline. However, from my router, I can see the Doorbell has very good connection. It is assigned an IP address, and I can ping it. Also, all my other Ring Stick-up Cameras, which connect to the same Wifi, are online. What's more mysterious is that the Doorbell can continue to detect motion and respond to the button. And once it has detected motion or being pressed, it goes back online again. But, it goes offline after a few minutes. Is there a bug in Ring's server side that determines whether a device is online or not? Or is there a bug in the latest firmware?

Hey neighbors. It sounds like you may be referring to the Video Doorbell 3, as there is no Video Doorbell Pro 3. If your Doorbell is frequently disconnecting from wifi, please try checking through the information and troubleshooting steps below. * Ensure your Ring Doorbell is within 20 to 25 feet from your wifi router, as farther distances can impact the wifi signal. A [Chime Pro ](https://ring.com/products/chime-pro-gen2) can help extend your wifi network if there is a large distance between your Doorbell and router. * Check the [RSSI](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Understanding-RSSI-Values-and-WiFi-Signal-Strength) for your Ring Doorbell to see if it’s indicating a stable wifi connection or if there may be a weak connection in place. * Review the settings on your wifi network to see if there were any recent changes, and to make sure the [ports and protocols used by Ring devices ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/205385394-The-Protocols-and-Ports-Used-by-Ring-Devices) are open. * Reset your Doorbell by holding down the setup button for at least 30 seconds, then set it back up using the steps under Set Up a Device. Before doing this, make sure to [download](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001834066-Download-and-Share-Your-Ring-Videos) any videos you want to keep. Monitor the Doorbell’s connection after. Should this concern persist, please follow up with our support team at one of the numbers available [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406) so they can take a deeper look at what may be causing this behavior. If you are outside of the US, please visit [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/213608406)to see how to contact support.

Man I thought I was going to go crazy. Mine is acting buggy too. All within the same time frame. Frustrating. I hope they get it figured out. Some new doorbells are looking pretty tempting.

I have had a ring video doorbell pro since 2015. No problems what so ever until the last couple months. Doorbell all of a sudden went off line and could not reconnect. Called ring and went through trouble shooting steps with a ring representative and they determined something was wrong with the device. Sent me a replacement device. Once received it connected fine and stayed on line and worked fine until a couple days later. Went through this two other times with replacement devices. Same issue. Finally called electrician and checked everything out and had Spectrum come out to see if something was wrong with modem or router. Found no problems but replaced router. Had another device sent out and same issue everytime. Called ring back and they sent out another device. They suggested replacing my older doorbell transformer so I had an electrician do that and hooked up the 5th device and worked great again for 13 days and went offline and can't reconnect. Has to be something wrong with the software or firmware causing this issue. Very frustrated. Any suggestions. Should I replace with a different ring doorbell product. Any suggestions??

Same issue with ring doorbell pro 3 battery operated yet no app update available to use this troubleshooting. Changed WiFi frequency, same issue of constant disconnecting and having to remove faceplate, remove and reinsert battery then it works and then goes offline anywhere between 5 minutes and a few hours. Very frustrating given having to travel and feeling unsecured while away. Need answer
