Ring Video Doorbell
Ring Doorbell Not Working.
My ring doorbell hasn't been working good for the past few months. I called and i was told it need to be updated and it got updated but the same problem keeps going on. It isn't recording all the motions, it takes forever to ring. "

DI posted this somewhere else but you might be having the same problem i have. Mine will record if someone rings the doorbell but does not pick up any motion or connect to live view. If you hit the reset button and you hear the pharse "updating" then your doorbell is in a update loop that it can't get out of. I have good power and a strong WiFi signal but it still can't get out of this loop. I was told by support that my only option is to replace the doorbell. My doorbell was purchased in 2017 (didnt install until 2018) and i am seeing a lot of comments with issues from people who purchased that year.

MHey neighbors! Video connection concerns are often related to wifi, mobile device, or Ring app communication variables. The best first thing to check is your wifi signal strength, or RSSI, which can be found in the Device Health section of your Ring app. Check out our [Community post about RSSI](https://community.ring.com/t5/Ring-Device-Tips-and-How-To-s/How-it-Works-Your-Ring-Device-RSSI-Good-vs-Poor/ba-p/751) for tips on optimizing this signal strength. Removing and reinstalling the Ring app is a quick way to ensure it is up to date and optimally integrated with your mobile device. On your mobile device, try testing video on wifi only, and then on data only, to see if either connection is more efficient. Please also ensure bluetooth is disabled. If your Video Doorbell was unable to complete the update upon initial setup, or is not updating after a couple days, try resetting your Doorbell by holding the setup button for 20 seconds. I hope this helps! :)

Hi @LMARISOL21. Can you clarify what's happening with the Doorbell when you say that not all of the motions are being recorded? For example, does it not record when you try and test it out by walking in front of the Doorbell or pressing the button? What is your Motion Frequency setting set to? You can learn more about Motion Frequency in our Help Center Article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003477106-Understanding-and-Optimizing-Motion-Detection-with-Motion-Frequency).
