Ring doorbell not fully charging and app has temporary connection issue

For 2 days I have been trying to get my ring doorbell up and running after a battery charge. I'm geting a connection issue with the message "the Ring app has a temporary connection issue". This is all over Ring chat with many users having this problem over the past year. I don't see any viable solutions. Ring you need to fix this.
