Ring Doorbell data usage skyrocketed after replacing battery

After recharging the battery a few days ago and re-installing it in the Ring Doorbell unit, I received a message from my ISP advising that 90% of my monthly data for March has already been used. Today is only the 7th. I’ve disabled pretty much everything at this point on the Ring app. Anyone have a problem with heavy data usage after replacing battery? I checked the device settings and they appeared to be the same. Where did I go wrong? data usage this month is already more than 3X what it is for a normal month.

For battery-powered Video Doorbells, there is a Motion Frequency setting that will preserve battery life when it is running low. Upon fully charging your battery this can adjust to “frequent”, meaning motion will detect frequently. Many motions, live views, and reconnection attempts can lead to a different experience compared to when the Video Doorbell was offline or low battery.

Having same issue. However, data is charged to my ISP four times a day at approx. the same time each day. Is this how Ring Doorbell data usage is transferred to ISP (in batches rather than real time) or the times Amazon downloads the unauthorized data it collects? This is not a battery life issue, it’s a data usage issue.
