Hi neighbors. Hardwiring a battery powered Ring Doorbell will provide the battery with a trickle charge to help extend the amount of time between recharges. Depending on various factors, such as weather, wifi, and activity, the battery may drain more quickly than it can be charged from the hardwiring. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try: - Check to ensure the wiring is firmly in place on your Doorbell, and there are no fraying or loose wires in the circuit. - Review the [wifi signal strength](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Checking-Wifi-Signal-Strength) for your Doorbell. Having a weak or unstable signal can contribute to increased battery drain, as the Doorbell may disconnect and reconnect to wifi frequently. - Go over your [Motion Zones](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/210243483-Utilizing-Motion-Zones-with-your-Ring-Devices) and motion settings to see if you can make some changes to minimize false alerts. Neighbors with a Ring Protect Plan can utilize [Smart Alerts](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032947972-Refining-Your-Motion-Alert-Notifications-for-People-and-Other-Motions-) to further refine their motion detection. Have the same issue, which makes the doorbell unusable. Is that a software issue? Any plan to fix it?
