Ring Doorbell 3 Plus... "Alexa, show the most recent event from [Ring Device Name]." THE RECORDING HAS BEEN REMOVED?

“Alexa, show the most recent event from [Ring Device Name].” and Alexa responds with " THE RECORDING HAS BEEN REMOVED"??? And Alexa doesn’t play any clips??? It used to show/play the last clip.

I subscribe to the Basic Ring Plan.

I see another post, same issue however the user is using an Echo Show and mine is an Echo Dot.

I have tried removing the device and re-linking between Amazon.

The previous videos still show in the Ring app.

The Live View is still working through my Echo Dot.

I have tried restarting the Echo Dot.

The software is up to date on the Ring App and the Echo Dot.

Well, we are making progress. Now Alexa states “Sorry, something went wrong…” instead of “The recording has been removed”!

Just wanted to update that as of today 3/3/2021 the issue has resolved itself on the backend of Ring/Alexa and is no longer an issue. I did not call into Ring tech support or to Alexa tech support for this issue.

I have had the same issue for a year and I have tried all the solutions as well. It will play the video if it is soon after the rign has had a motion or doorbell alert. but after a short amount of time it will just say “the recording has been removed”.

Hi @bettyflyboop! Try removing the Ring skill / routine and re-adding it in the Alexa app. Please also ensure your subscription is active and connection is proper for both the Ring and Alexa devices.
