Ring Video Doorbell
Ring Doorbell (2) - Video Flare
I purchase a Ring Doorbell (2) in 2020 and have loved it until recently. We haven't changed any settings, but now when the video is activated a huge bright light is in the first few seconds and then it clears up. I'm attaching a video for reference. Can anyone tell me what's going on and how do I fix it?

So then how come it wasn’t doing this for the last 3 years until about 2 or 3 weeks ago? We haven’t changed anything. I don’t mean to sound stupid or anything or that I don’t believe you just don’t understand why it’s decided to just start doing this.

Hi @Txtaylors5. This is called overexposure. Overexposure typically occurs when the Ring device is installed in a darker area with a bright source of light in its field of view, such as an enclosed porch. The contrast between the bright and dark areas causes the camera to auto-adjust to a lower light level, which causes the brighter areas to be overexposed. Your Doorbell is adjusting to the lighting and is still able to give you a clear view of your front door area within a second or two. You can try changing the mounting location of the Doorbell so that it does not have a bright source of light in its view or adding a [Wedge or Corner kit](https://ring.com/collections/accessories) to change its angle to see if that helps.
