Recently bought and installed a Ring video doorbell2. The installation and setup went fine. Overall it's performing great. The issue I'm experiencing is in testing I have found that the speaker volume on the unit is very, very quiet. As in if I were to use the two-way chat function when someone Rings My doorbell, I would be able to hear them fine, but the caller can't hear me on the outside. Ring 2's actual volume is almost unintelligible because the volume is so low.I would use this feature very often. Ring engineer can fix this issue. Anybody else has the same experience with the Ring 2?

I own 2 and am running into the same. I'm surprised there's not a class action lawsuit for false advertising.

Just a word of caution. I worked with Ring and will continue to after the Holidays in good faith. During that time I received telephone assistance that checked my wifi signal, firmware, software, plus moved device location, modem location, added wifi boosters x3 and Spotlight Cam (Battery) replaced, Spotlight Cam (wired) installed returned; etc with no resolution. Note from the list of actions, not once did Ring say they had a problem, it was always implied that it was/is my problem. Heres the catch, Ring has a 90 Day Return Policy, during my Good Faith Period the possibility for return with refund ran out. Watch your calander closely, this is a policy they will hold to firmly.

I have just installed the ring doorbell 2 and unfortunately, having the same issues with the volume. Looked up on how to increase the volume to hear/talk but to no avail. There is definitely no 2 way talk going on with this device. Can you please help or exchange if faulty. Thank you

Yes, the volume on my Doorbell 2 is extremely low. When the button is pressed the chime sound at the Doorbell is a good volume but the voice audio volume is very low, sometimes the caller does not hear it and at times they have to put their ear up close to it. Can adjusting the volume of the voice audio be added to the App, this would help for locations such as busy streets or roadways where there is a lot of background noise. The uploaded video is from a postal delivery yesterday, the postman can not hear me talking to him and there is audio dropout right at the start of the clip.[Ring Doorbell 2 Audio Problem.zip|attachment](upload://nCGeyElSH7QQK3GKQ4Rosdz6ujc.zip) (7.01 MB)

OMG! Thank you. I deleted my history, uninstalled and reinstalled Ring app and I can actually hear the person at the door. I too wish it didn't take so long in the app opening before you can see and talk.

Someone posted this. I tried it and it worked. Thank you to the author of this: There are a few threads on this forum regarding issues with Samsung phones and mesh WiFi systems, but as far as Samsungs go, disable the event history in the Ring App, uninstall and reinstall it. and you can then talk to the visitor It doesnt fix the lag between motion detection and notification but its better than it was.

Same issue for me. Samsung note 8 update had no effect. Purchased ring 2 weeks ago. Sounds great on cell phone speaker but the person at the door can only hear a faint whisper. I am almost yelling at my end.

I installed my new Ring Doorbell 2 today, and noticed that the volume on the sound it makes when the button is pressed is loud, but once you try to talk to the person at the door, the sound is very low. I also have a S8. Has this been resolved? What's the fix? Thank you in advance.

HiIf you have a Samsung, this may help. Disable the Event History Time Line in New Features menu, then uninstall the app, then reinstall the app. This may help, it certainly does with S9 and S10 phones.(They have known about this for 4 months and still done nothing about it!)

Just bought a Ring Doorbell 2 this weekend and installed it a few hours ago. I do like the product and video, but like others, I feel the speaker quality is very disappointing. When testing with my wife, I can hear her pretty good on the phone end, but for her (the person outside at the doorbell) it wasn't great. Audio seemed to cut out a bit (I have strong wi-fi at the doorbell) and even when audio transmission was smooth it was still very quiet. I do love the camera so far and would just love to see an audio fix. Thanks! Phones tested were Samsang Galaxy S8 and S9+.

You keeping asking for videos. How many videos of this problem does ring need???? Just fix it! Mine has been on going since May. I Keep waiting for the fix and the same results as the commercial advertises. I want my ring speaker to be as loud as you advertise.

Hi DH82,What exact issue do you experience?Same as I (mic audio from phone to ring device very bad, but only when timeline feature turned on)? What devices do you use? Samsung? What do you mean with "worked normal"? Your audio was OK although Samsung mobile and timeline feature turned on?This would be interessting...If you want that the ring-support is able to help you, you have to provide at least the basic data of your setup and your problem...@Ring: Are there any news regarding our problem?Thank you and best regards, Markus

My iPhone XS MAX and my wife’s iPhone 7 Plus have same volume issue. Sitting side by side we both experience loud volume then low volume randomly.

No, no, no. This is on iPhones with Timeline enabled. I spent an hour on “chat” with Ring. They decided to send me another one which of course has same issue. I have 2 ring doorbells. NOTE: iPad however is not effected.

I received new doorbell 2 from Ring tech support and still an issue. Most of the time it happens with Timeline enabled but even with this is off it happens. To fix, I leave live view then go back to it. I’ve tried iPhones of others and used their network with same issue. Doorbell speaker is very low as well as iPhone sound very low. FYI...I have 3 doorbells all with same issue. Any Ring tech with iPhones can duplicate this. DOES NOT EFFECT IPADS however. No video available.

Same here! My husband and I have iPhone 6s phones and we can barely hear what is being said through the ring 2 doorbell when using the intercom. We sound fine out I’d the device to the person on our front stoop, but when they speak to us through the ring 2, it is impossible to hear them. Please help!!

This is most assuredly happening on iPhones. I’ve tested it on 10 S max and 7 plus and on four Rings. The workaround is to exit live you and then go back into it and the audio works fine. Or swipe the timeline to the right and then left again and that also seems to fix the glitch.

Sure. However I have talk with Support and they tied into my ring doorbell remotely. They were able to duplicate the issue as far as me hearing them. The issue happens on all my iPhones I duplicated this on all three of mine in the house and my mothers who lives far away. The workaround is just swipe to the right in live view mode and then swipe back to live. This however is not an issue with iPads.

Same here. I bought the Ring Doorbell 2 with high expectations which it met. But the speaker volume is truly laughable. I now use the [Ring Pro Doorbell instead of the Ring 2](https://www.leadsrating.com/smart-doorbells/smart-doorbells-comparisons/ring-vs-ring-2-vs-ring-pro/) and it seems to be a little better but I'd love to switch back to the wireless option.
