I have two ring doorbell 2 units and one drains the battery in 2 weeks and the other can go 6 weeks. Interchange the batteries and nothing changes. Both doorbells only record if the button is pressed. No motion, screenshots, live view are configured on these two units. Is something wrong with the one causing it to discharge so fast? The one that last 6 weeks is used much more then the one that last 2 weeks. Even at times the 2 week one hasn’t recorded a thing before the battery needs charged.
Hi there, @Firestorm457! Check out our Community post for tips on optimizing battery usage and avoiding battery drain factors. As the Doorbell in question experiences less usage, check the RSSI, and wifi signal interference can cause battery drain as well. Try charging the Video Doorbell for several hours using the provide micro usb, then keeping the Doorbell inside near the router to monitor the battery level change over a day or so.
If the battery drain persists, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here.
