Ring does not record after midnight

Same problem here too - in the UK. BOTH of my ring cameras detected motion but there was no video all within a couple of minutes so someone or something was hanging around there and I have no video - there were four detections and none had a video. This started happening about a month ago - not impressed. During the day they work just fine. What IS the problem???

I think someone at Ring central must be switching off the servers when go home!!

Hi neighbors! If your Ring Doorbell or Camera is missing motion events or not recording them, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Check that you have an active Ring Protect plan or trial, as this is required to be able to view recordings of motion events. The plan must have been active at the time the event occurred as well.
  • Adjust any Motion Schedules or Mode settings that may be interfering with motion detection and recording.
  • Review your Ring device’s RSSI and make sure it has a stable wifi connection, otherwise it may not be able to capture and record motion events properly.
  • Test the motion detection during a specified time frame by moving in front of the Camera’s view to see if it triggers and records a motion event. If it doesn’t pick this up, you might want to adjust your Motion Zones.

If this concern continues to persist after trying all of these steps, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here. They can review your account and your Ring device and troubleshoot more in-depth. If you are outside of the US, please visit here to see how to contact support.
