Hi I just set up my ring security camera last night. This morning I noticed nothing recorded after midnight. What is going on? I have the protection plan trial.

I too had this problem but may have found a workaround…at least it seems to be working for me. I have a Ring 3 video doorbell with 2 chimes. I set up a motion schedule to turn OFF the camera from 06.00am to 06.01am every morning and when I went to look this morning, watched foxes playing in my front garden at 12.40am. Will check tomorrow morning and may add an earlier motion schedule to see if that helps too, but my camera hasn’t worked at 12.40am for a loooong time! In case people don’t know where to set up a motion schedule - Open ring>>click on 3 lines in top left corner>>Click Devices>>Select your Ring doorbell>>Click Motion Settings>>Click Advanced settings>>Click Motion Settings >>Set a really short time for the doorbell to not record. Make sure you select every day. Fingers crossed this works, because it’s not the Wi-Fi that’s been the problem! 🤦‍♀️

I am having this issue. I have all settings set to record just about everything. It recorded everything all times of the night until about a month ago and now it’s just sporadic. I’m going to ditch this if it isn’t resolved. All your instructions to fix ARE NOT WORKING. It is not a battery problem. I need answers please or I’m done for good.

Same problem here too - in the UK. BOTH of my ring cameras detected motion but there was no video all within a couple of minutes so someone or something was hanging around there and I have no video - there were four detections and none had a video. This started happening about a month ago - not impressed. During the day they work just fine. What IS the problem????

Hi neighbors! If your Ring Doorbell or Camera is missing motion events or not recording them, please try the following troubleshooting steps: - Check that you have an active [Ring Protect plan](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001671383-General-Information-on-Ring-Protect-Subscription-Plans) or trial, as this is required to be able to view recordings of motion events. The plan must have been active at the time the event occurred as well. - Adjust any [Motion Schedules](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/218380863-Scheduling-Times-When-You-Don-t-Want-to-Receive-Motion-Alerts-) or [Mode](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036107792-Control-All-your-Ring-Devices-with-Modes) settings that may be interfering with motion detection and recording. - Review your Ring device's [RSSI](https://community.ring.com/t/how-it-works-your-ring-device-rssi-good-vs-poor/229#M4) and make sure it has a stable wifi connection, otherwise it may not be able to capture and record motion events properly. - Test the motion detection during a specified time frame by moving in front of the Camera's view to see if it triggers and records a motion event. If it doesn't pick this up, you might want to adjust your [Motion Zones](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042728431-Advanced-Motion-Detection-in-Ring-Devices). If this concern continues to persist after trying all of these steps, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). They can review your account and your Ring device and troubleshoot more in-depth. If you are outside of the US, please visit [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/213608406)to see how to contact support.
