Ring does not record after midnight

Hi neighbors! If your Ring Doorbell or Camera is missing motion events or not recording them, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Check that you have an active Ring Protect plan or trial, as this is required to be able to view recordings of motion events. The plan must have been active at the time the event occurred as well.
  • Adjust any Motion Schedules or Mode settings that may be interfering with motion detection and recording.
  • Review your Ring device’s RSSI and make sure it has a stable wifi connection, otherwise it may not be able to capture and record motion events properly.
  • Test the motion detection during a specified time frame by moving in front of the Camera’s view to see if it triggers and records a motion event. If it doesn’t pick this up, you might want to adjust your Motion Zones.
