Ring Chime For Floodlight Camera

It is great that Ring will show “Person Detected” when a person is in front of the camera, as opposed to just the Motion message. But when a person is detected, the same chime is used so if you are only interested in responding to the chimes that detect a person, you have to look at all chimes to know if it was a car or some other object or a person.

I recommend that Ring come up with a different, distinct chime just for when a person is detected and maybe even in Settings give an option to show and hear Objects, Persons or both in the ring tones. There are many times when I only want to know if a person is detected and right now I have to look at each ring tone to know.

I’m pretty sure it doesn’t mean actual person. Mine says person every time it detects movement. I personally don’t like the wording. The first time I saw ‘person detected at front door’ late at night was very scary. Especially to find there was no person. I would rather it just said motion then I can look for myself and determine who or what it is.

Hi @CariL. You can change what it says in the Notifications Settings Menu, nested in the Device Settings menu. I hope this helps.
