Ring camera - poor security design

Ring has some serious security flaws. My cameras sometimes disconnect from wifi when I am not home. This is when I most care about the cameras working.

  1. I cannot reconnect remotely. This would be most ideal.
  2. I have to send someone to my house. Even when I was able to do this - I had to provide this person my ring account login and password. I should at a minimum be able to give this person their own temporary login access in order to reconnect the cameras.

Ring biggest product strength is video access when users are not home. Ring needs to figure out better connectivity troubleshooting when a user is not home. Ideally Ring should not have sharing login info as the only troubleshooting possibility. What kind of security tech company comes up with this design?

Hi @user21296. Ring Security Cameras and Doorbells will automatically try to reconnect to wifi after a temporary outage or disconnect. If the signal strength is not stable or strong enough, your Cameras may not be able to automatically reconnect. Once the Camera is offline, it cannot communicate with the Ring app to be rebooted that way.

After reconnecting your Cameras to your internet, check the wifi signal strength on the Device Health page. Improving the signal can help prevent the Cameras from disconnecting and being unable to reconnect.
