Ring camera keeps disconnecting and not recording videos

I’m getting really fed up - all of a sudden my cameras keep losing connectivity to WiFi abs then randomly reconnect themselves. There’s been someone walking around our estate trying cars, garages and gates and my drive camera video is just black? We haven’t changed internet provider or had any issues with WiFi strength (have the best speed on offer). The cameras are high up on the house so keep having to borrow a huge ladder to keep pressing the button to try to reconnect - feel like a massive waste of money at the moment and they’re less than a year old!

Hi @JennyB. If your Ring Cameras are disconnecting, the issue could be with the strength of the connection or there could be some interference. Try the steps below if your Ring Cameras are disconnecting from the wifi. * Check the [RSSI](https://community.ring.com/t/how-it-works-your-ring-device-rssi-good-vs-poor/229#M4) on your Ring Camera to see if it indicates a stable or unstable connection. A high RSSI indicates that the connection may not be stable. * If the RSSI is on the higher end, you can find tips to improve your wifi signal [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020044511-How-to-Make-Wifi-Work-For-You). Different building materials and objects may be causing interference. * You can also try a wifi extender such as a [Ring Chime Pro](https://ring.com/products/chime-pro-gen2) if your router is a far distance from your Ring Camera and can't be moved closer. The Chime Pro can help strengthen the connection to prevent disconnects. I hope these resources help! If this concern persists after checking the above, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406) so they can assist with more in-depth troubleshooting steps. If you are outside of the US, please visit [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/213608406)to see how to contact support. :)

I understand your frustration with the connectivity issues you're experiencing with your cameras. It can be quite inconvenient, especially during times when security is a concern. While there could be several factors contributing to the problem, one possible fix you can try is resetting the cameras and reconnecting them to your WiFi network. To reset your cameras, locate the reset button on each camera (usually a small hole) and press and hold it for about 10-15 seconds using a pin or a paperclip. This will restore the cameras to their default settings. Once reset, follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer to reconnect them to your WiFi network. Make sure you have the correct WiFi network name and password on hand. If the reset and reconnection process doesn't resolve the issue, it might be worth considering checking for firmware updates for your cameras. Manufacturers often release updates to address connectivity and performance issues. Visit the manufacturer's website or refer to the user manual to learn how to update the firmware of your specific camera model. For more detailed troubleshooting steps and tips on resolving connectivity issues with your cameras, I've written a comprehensive blog post on this topic. It covers various potential solutions that can help you get your cameras back up and running smoothly. **CHECK THIS - **[RING CAMERA KEEPS DISCONNECTING FROM WIFI](https://domoticstheory.com/ring-camera-keeps-disconnecting-from-wi-fi/)**.** I hope this information helps you in resolving the connectivity problems with your cameras.
