Ring base station will not reset nor go into pairing

I just unboxed the security system and began installing. The first thing the app requested was to set up the base station. I plugged it in and initially the lights on the back came on. Could not get into pairing mode so I unplugged it and moved closer to the wifi. The blue cirlce stays constant and no lights on the back to indicate it is plugged in or that it is searching for wifi. Have tried holding the pairing in for UP to 1 minute and still get nothing. Have tried to reset quickly or up to 1 minute and nothing. Any help is appreciated.
