Ring App Windows 10 will not login - error code: 0x80131500

I have set up my app on the phone and can log in to the website (and here, obviously) but the Windows 10 desktop app doesnt work - when i enter my correct details it just gives the: "**Something went wrong - Error code: 0x80131500 :(**" message. I have followed instructions on here and other places to try to solve - none work. - Reset MS store cache - nope - Reinstalled app - nope - rebooted - nope - updated windows - nope - set new firewall rules - nope - disabled antivirus and firewall - nope If I try to reset my passowrd with the app (in case its totally messed up) I get a different error - 406. Please provide a solution - I work at my desk most of the time so this is where i want to be able to see my doorbell activity from.

I have spent hours on this trying the Microsoft cures for error, non worked. Tried on 3 different pc's. Changed my email address as per suggestion, in the phone ap. now works fine.

Confirmed that changing from a yahoo email to gmail email account works. Lesson learned... DO NOT create a new Ring account using a gmail account first!! Or you will have to go through tech support to have them change the email. Go into app on phone change email there. Once my Ring account was changed to a gmail account, I can now log in using Windows app.

Another confirm for the email address change. I had the 0x0131500 error until I changed my yahoo account to gmail. This is really dumb.

I too found an unexplainable solution: I TOO WAS GETTING ERROR TRYING TO LOG IN WITH MY OLD ACCOUNT LINKED TO YAHOO EMAIL. I CREATED A NEW RING ACCOUNT LINKED TO MY GMAIL INSTEAD OF YAHOO AND HAVE NO TROUBLE LOGGING INTO WINDOWS APP WITH GMAIL... RING NEEDS TO FIX THIS ISSUE LINKED TO OLD ACCOUNTS AND SPECIFICALLY OLD ACCOUNTS LINKED TO YAHOO.

I am unable to logon with my main account (yahoo dot com) but can logon with my wife's additional gmail dot com account. I can logon with my yahoo dot com account on my phone or on the website though, just doesnt work with WIndows 10 UWP v2.3.8. I have reached this conclusion by entering the user name blah at gmail dot with the password blah .. and it gives me the expected "Login error - please check that your email and password are correct". But if I try blah at yahoo dot com I get the error I have been getting when I try to logon with my account - "Something went wrong - The error code is 0x80131500"
